Direction of usage:
Because the Diya is made from cow dung/Panchagavya-based material, it can ignite relatively quickly when exposed directly to a flame. The following method can help moderate the initial burning and reduce rapid consumption of Ghee.
Recommended Method
Step 1 – Soak the Diya
Before use, gently place the GoVirtus Panchagavya Diya in clean water for approximately up to 40 seconds.
Step 2 – Remove & Drain
Take the Diya out of the water and allow excess water to drain. Place it securely on a stable, heat-resistant and non-flammable surface e.g. Metal Plate
Step 3 – Add Ghee or Oil
Add the required quantity of Ghee or suitable Puja oil to the Diya.
Step 4 – Light Carefully
Light the Diya carefully using a suitable flame source. Keep your hands, face, clothing and other combustible materials away from the flame.
Step 5 – Never Leave Unattended
Keep the burning Diya in a safe location and never leave it unattended, especially around children or pets.
Why Soak the Diya Before Use?
The 30–40 second water-soaking step helps moderate the initial ignition of the cow-dung-based Diya. It can help the Diya burn more gradually and may reduce rapid consumption of Ghee.
Important: Do not use a cracked, damaged or unstable Diya. Because the Diya has been soaked, ensure it is positioned securely before lighting and avoid touching or moving it while burning.
